Street casting for personal projects
Street casting can enrich personal projects by introducing authentic and diverse subjects. This way of working can help in the quest to capture genuine expressions and stories, enhancing depth and relatability. Most of my personal projects have been shot in this way rather than using agency models. If I see someone that I think would be great to photograph I approach them on the street and suggest doing a shoot. Most reactions are positive and a date is set for the project. I’ll then meet up with them again with a shot list in hand and a location arranged.
